The world's oldest classification society, Lloyd's Register, announced today that four 10-meter aluminum alloy twin-hull patrol boats, fully certified by its technical team, have officially started construction at the Poseidon Boat in Shandong. These police boats are part of a United Nations procurement project and, once completed, will be donated to Pacific island nations such as Kiribati and Nauru. Equipped with twin 300-horsepower outboard engines, they can reach a maximum speed of 30 knots and will be used for United Nations maritime humanitarian rescue missions.
"The four rescue vessels not only embody technological innovation but also convey the shared responsibility for humanity's future," said He Jinshi from Lloyd's Register Qingdao Office at the groundbreaking ceremony. "From material certification to overall performance validation, we ensure that each vessel operates stably in extreme environments, setting a benchmark for rescue operations that combines 'safety, efficiency, and environmental protection'."
Since issuing its first certificate for a Chinese merchant vessel 150 years ago, Lloyd's Register has been actively involved in the modernization of China's shipping industry. This collaboration marks the first systematic integration of China's aluminum alloy shipbuilding technology with international top-tier standards, providing a replicable model for maritime infrastructure construction under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Poseidon Boat is committed to working hand in hand with Lloyd's Register to deeply cultivate the blue ocean, leading industrial innovation through continuous technological breakthroughs. By combining "Made in China" with "Lloyd's quality," we are driving dynamic energy in the global maritime waves with integrated ocean solutions!
